People don't know the disparity in size until they would both get in the ring either. Jones wasn't a big Light Heavyweight, Spinks certainly was at 6'2 and sporting a Heavyweight frame.
size absolutely but i think your discussion of awkwardness and unpredictability hit it home for me. spinks was INCREDIBLY versatile and sometimes just an ugly-unconventional fighter who could bang like ****. jones would have a ton of trouble timing him, getting into his rhythm and would as such, be very vulnerable to counters
Duran... Robinson... Pep... Ali... Leonard... would all get the job done. Whitaker would frustrate the **** out of him too & likely pull out the win.
jones forget p4p would beat Michael spinks in a shut out the jones that fought Virgil hill would have won every round
based on styles, what do people think of harold johnson? I think he had a lot of the tools needed to trouble a prime jones. win? probably not but put up a good fight
I'm waiting to get some s££t for this but I think one of the greatest shame's in the whole of boxing was Calzaghe vs RJJ never got made in their primes and i'm going for Calzaghe by close decision
you know what? I disagree but you're allowed to your opinion and i sure as hell think it'd be a much better fight than that last november. calzaghe style wise is a pain in the ass
Ok I'll do it peak for peak Calzaghe would get leathered , he leaves too many gaps for someone who could hit as fast as Jones did
How would you know? Who else has Calzaghe fought even approaching Jones in speed during his prime? For that matter, who has anybody fought from middleweight and up even approaching a prime Jones for speed? The guy was ridiculous. Anyway, he tagged Joe as a shopworn fighter and even though Joe wasn't really prime either, I think it'd be the worst night of Joe's life prime for prime. And that's not a disrespect to Joe because I think he's a great fighter who does pretty well in an h2h sense himself.
