Calzaghe by far. Never beat ONE ELITE boxer or an elite prime boxer in his life. Gift vs 43 yr old geezer Then ricardo Lopez - moreso because of weakness of division. But you can't give him too much credit for fighting in that division Then rocky marciano - best wins are past prime light heavies (38-39 yr old jersey joe and archie) and past prime ezzard who all gave him problems. Other than those three never beat anyone good. Then floyd - Marquez is the only elite fighter in his prime that Floyd beat. Corrales Canelo Castillo are far from elite - and floyd still was gifted vs Castillo. Ironically no undefeated boxer belongs in the top 45. Calzaghe not in the top 100 easily
dont forget marquez last fight before floyd was at lightweight and mayweather came in 3 pounds over the contracted limit. juan manuel jumped up 2 weight classes .
If we're talking champions then probably Sven Ottke. If we're talking about people who WERE undefeated for a while before they acquired their first loss, guys like Don Steele, Vaugn Been, Marty Jacubowski and several others come to mind.
The thread title is a loaded question with a none too subtle scarcely hidden agenda imo. The wider question may be "Which fighter in history has the most padded record?" Why bring the unbeaten aspect into if not to discredit a great fighter?
My argument would be that although Mosley and ODLH we're past their primes, they were more natural WW's than FWJ. More ODLH. Corrales may not have been elite, but much better than just a damn good fighter. He was never beaten in the dominate fashion in which Mayweather beat him. It is pretty well known that Mayweather had a shoulder injury in Mayweather/Castillo I. Their second fight made that excuse very believable as Mayweather won almost every round.
