Why would anyone with a brain fight Foreman that way anyway ?
George has his place in history but is overrated by some way.
His blowouts of Frazier and Norton built his aura.
Ali blew his aura away, Lyle hit him on the head with it , then Jimmy Young scattered it to the winds.
I give him credit for his comeback, but Holyfield and Morrison restored some perspective to where George was in the scheme of things.
If Moorer had kept his focus and go onto an easy points win, George wouldve fizzled away.
After that he avoided anyone of note.

Joe Louis had some serious offensive power, and tight compact delivery for getting the job done...another Lewis comes to mind as well...But if Foreman came into the ring with a certain mindset...you would have to kill him to beat him.

Lewis definitely has a chance of putting Big George down with that signature right but he better hope he catches George first and not vice versa.

I think Tyson has a decent shot because Foreman's jab (though insanely powerful) was certainly on the slow side, It's not out of the realm of possibility that Tyson slips one then weaves in to a left hook as he did with taller opponents his entire career. That was a money punch for Tyson against tall guys and it had one shot power on it.

Vitali is one of the few who could outreach Foreman but was also on the slow side and Foreman was great at shutting down straight punches with that "Mummy" defense. He took the jab from two all time great jabbers in Ken Norton and Ali. I don't think Vitali has the punch variation to come up with a KO before Foreman does.

    Lewis ? With his glass-chin ? I hope it was a joke.
Vitali is too fragile( Byrd/Lewis losses) and he had a total different style.
Basically the prime Foreman wasn't 225 pounds an Tyson wasn't only 215.
I can imagine a fight between the 220 pounds Foreman and the Berbick or Tucker version Tyson.

The thing about foremans jab is that its actually faster and more accurate than people think. He nearly outjabbed a prime holyfield (look at the connect % they were basically even). And thjs is an OLD foreman.

I will admit, after watching this video breaking down tysons style he did leap in with a vicious hook and overight hand over a jab and could fight taller fighters. The problem is foreman isnt going down to just one big punch and even if he did, hes proven he can get off the floor to win. When lyle started timing his jab he made adjustments, foreman isnt a dumbass.

The only problem is were not discussing a "boxing match" were saying what would happen if tyson stood toe to toe and slugged it out. Neither guy is really going to be jabbing in the first place.

Um. You're creating a composite of Foreman. Jabbing is one thing that I'd say his old version actually did better than his young self. Gramps Foreman had a mean jab.

Im not compositing anything. Foreman controlled chuvalo with the jab and popped it all night with ring generalship and later movement. He also used his jab against norton effevtively.

People judge foreman based on his wild style against lyle and ali but that only happened when he got pissed off and ignored his corner, it wasnt the norm.

Holyfield beat Foreman and did so even though he traded with him. It was an older version of Foreman but oddly enough, Foreman would have had trouble with Holyfield even during Foreman's earlier career. The reason I say that is because of Holyfield's durability and Foreman's lack of it. He would have been able to weather Foreman's early onslaught and come back to defeat a thoroughly exhausted Foreman.

yes, this is a possible scenario... holyfield could outlast him... foreman had bad stamina and pacing, and holyfield after all took bowe, lewis and tyson punches... only stopped once in 7 fights with them
