Honestly, not a bad choice. Tapia was a very skilled, hard hitting, tough SOB that was extremely exciting to watch.

But I have to say my personal fav that made me a boxing fan was the best of the Fab 4 - Marvelous Marvin Hagler.

Being in the amateurs I didnt know alot of big named fighters outside of Tyson and Ali, However the 1984 US olympic team made me an all time fan of the sport especially to see so many turn pro and fight on to win world titles.
    Favorite fighter ever Evander Holyfield
Favorite from that team Meldrick Taylor

or me it was eubank, bruno and prince naz. seeing men born and bred in england going on to conquer a sport was amazing. with hindsight i now know that lewis and ben where doing the same but at the time they never really caught my imagination as much. maybe it was cos eubank had beaten benn and lewis had represented canada at the olympics i dunno. but whatever the reasons in my 8 year old brain, it was them 3 who got me into the sport.

He is nowhere near one of my favorite fighters, but I remember when I was a kid I was in hospital getting my appendix out and Naz was fighting Jose Badillo, and I just loved it. I was kinda dissapointed when I realised he was a pretty unique fighter as I was only about six but the older I got the more I appreciated different styles. Naz just set the ball rolling.

Watched Ali vs Spinks with my Dad...I was addicted...Lulled away for awhile but reinvigorated with Tyson...

Dudes like Julian Jackson, Mike "the Body Snatcher" McCallum, Sweat Pea Whitaker, James Toney, etc. made me love the sport...Rooting against Chavez too (Mad respect for Chavez, he was an all time great)....

I'm still relatively new, I frequent this forum at least twice during my day. I'm not a hardcore fan but more than a casual fan, or so I think.
Anyhow, my dislike for Mayweather's personality is what got me into boxing (then later I became a fan of his(still dislike that personality)).
