Because you demanded it, Which fighter is better feature has returned, this time pitting the skills of two iron chinned warriors against one another. So i ask you, which fighter was better:

... oh man! This is a tough one, since we're talking about two of my all time favorites. (Chavez being a childhood fave, and Hagler having become more and more of one as I became a bigger fan of boxing history during my teens).

I'll give the nod to Hagler, due to greater versatility, (his wonderful ability to switch back and forth at any given moment from boxer to brawler to cutie, and even from southpaw to orthodox) and the fact that while fought plenty of good fighters, (and destroyed most of them) Hagler fought and mostly beat not only plenty of good fighters, but a couple of all time legends too.

Chavez was greater but Hagler was better due to his better versatility.

Chavez was the greater p4p fighter.

Hagler had a brilliant career & was a great fighter but JCC edges him out for me in this one.

In a P4P sense Chavez is a bit higher, in my opinion.

I wonder what Hagler's record would've been if he was the house fighter or if had fought WBC title bouts under the Don King banner. I tend to think he doesn't lose the close decisions, but then again, he would've never gone into Philly and fought all those tough guys, like the Petronelli's had to do with the guy. The only time Chavez was a road warrior was those DLH fights.

Hagler was the better fighter, and I think I'd probably have him higher P4P.

Hagler without hesitation. In a p4p sense I rate him higher also. JCC has a shitload of wins but more than half of them are against bums. Hagler has wins against legends.

That's the reason I have Hagler higher as well.

    In Chavez's record:

*24 wins are against fighters with 0 wins (at the time they fought him).
