Roy Jones used to get trapped on the ropes at times, Pernell Whitaker was much better at stepping to the side to avoid being trapped, which fighter was the best at this?
I was going to say George Foreman. Another guy who was great, especially when he didn't have to chase a guy... and especially when that same guy was on the attack is Evander Holyfield. Yeah, you were probably looking for a defensive wizard like Willie Pep but the main objective is to be more offensive (at least it should be) than your opponent and one can achieve this even if he is the less defensive fighter.
Gene Tunney good at it Freddie Steele Jack Johnson SRR Jerry Quarry The video is generally the rule of thumb and the normal when training beginning fighters generally you fight at angles and range....caveat that with some guys are good at fighting off the ropes and prefer to defend and fight off it....straight lines are a no no forward or back
Lamotta spent 6 fights rushing Robinson, best you could do with Armstrong was meet him in the middle.
