I think this brilliant study proves Ray Robinson was in the Top 10 in terms of being a great body puncher and was there anyone else that punched with more Venom to the body than Ray?!

Ray did pretty much everything extremely well if not great. The commentary on the video is a bit overstated... as in... "Turpin prioritizes body defense..." No, Turpin is beat to sh*t and fighting on instinct... but whatever, Ray got him to that point.

Ruben Olivares should be a strong candidate. Bodied Ramirez with a body shot when he was years past his best, and we saw the same Ramirez take everything the much larger Chavez & Rosario were able to throw throw at him.

Given he had so much that glittered his attack to the body is very underrated. JCC was devastating with his body attack and i like Duran, Armstrong, Arguello and Zale too. Rodriguez is a good mention too and i loved the way Eddie Mustafa Muhammad/Gregory could pulverize opponents midsection from long range while not being countered.

Jake LaMotta comes to mind. He focused on the body out of necessity of brittle hands.
    Chavez
    Armstrong

I'll happily answer your question mark ant...the answer is NO,...no one punched with more venom to the body, or anywhere else than the Original Sugar Ray. I become more impressed with The Greatest (not Ali, definitely not Mayweather) every time I see more footage of him.

If you were able to ask Lionel Rose about El Pua's body blows, you just know what he would tell you!

I feel this vid did great in expanding about the last LaMotta fight v Ray because Robi admitted LaMotta was out jabbing him for 10 rounds, but LaMotta said he was drained at having to cut to much weight and that`s why he gassed, the movie Raging Bull made it look lie he wasn`t mentally prepared but this vid proves it was the body shots that cancelled out Ray being out jabbed at first, so maybe he was a lot better at defending other punches rather tan the jab.

Jose Torres also is worthy of mention...it was that left to the liver that accounted for my man Willie Pastrano's only career knockdown...and basically made Torres a champion.

Kenny Norton. He'd land his jab and everything else was pretty much a 2 handed assult to the body. Then, he'd come upstairs with that looping right hand.

Frazier as well. Devastating left hook to the body. And all he ever did with his right hand was to throw it at the midsection.
