I mean, no question De La Hoya vs Pacquiao. Oscar weighed less than Pacquiao on fight night because his body was so wrecked he couldn't rehydrate.

Oscar weighed 150 against Forbes. I think it was in the manner he went about cutting the weight, cocaine etc. Because against Forbes at 150 he didn't look horribly drained. And he didn't blow up after that fight so he had time to make the weight. Dawson had to cut the weight really fast.

Both Oscar and Dawson, for the fights in question, hadn't fought at the division of competition in 7 years. Yes, seven years.

Yes he could have shown up better. I mean Oscar started his career at 130 right? And he was too small for 160. He could have shown up to fight in better shape but his program was shoddy.

Dawson fought well for the first 2 rounds.

    Can't say that about Oscar.

But Oscar made the weight drop back down from 160 slowly. Going to 154 for Mayorga and Floyd and then 150 for Forbes. Dawson weight drop was sudden.

Yes but which fighter lost his punch resistance first? Oscar never got dropped or staggered. Dawson was getting pummeled by a light puncher.

To answer the question Pascal couldn't knock Dawson out and Ward knocks no one out, Dawson looked like hell and was badly affected by the catchweight.

If he shelled up as much as Oscar did like a deer in headlights, then perhaps he wouldn't have been.

What you say is true, but Dawson was visibly trying more than Oscar was.

Also, Dawson was at a much higher level than Oscar was at that point. Thus, his drop off from "healthy, regular form" was greater than Oscars' drop off.

    So, I dunno...

In my liking, both are equal. No way a fan from the outside could try to act like they know for certain either way.

All is good. I've heard that the reason that a fighters punch resistance goes down is because of the fluid around the brain not being at the level it should be.
