    Fighters that have performed well and then it seems suddenly, sometimes literally over night, they started to lose and never regained there former status? Terry norris, meldrick Taylor spring to mind. Honeyghan went from dominant champ to been knocked down repeatedly against breeland. Any in mind?

    Good one s my man. Vargas in particular to me, seemed to be a danger to himself very suddenly.

    My choice too. Buster Douglas was a fighter that shone in a single fight....Against Holyfield he was in horrible form.

    One must wonder if he was ever really that good to begin with. He found a perfect foil in Holyfield. Their styles meshed well for entertaining fights. But he struggled with guys like Tubbs and Coetzer, and had a succession of softies. Of all people, the deeply flawed Golota was enough to permanently upset his apple cart.

    Fighters such as Pipino Cuevas, Jeff Fenech, Sean O'Grady, John Tate and Donald Curry all incurred severe knockouts where there was an obvious cerebral trauma because their jaws were never the same. However, one fighter I can think of that took an unusual downward spiral was former lightweight champ Bud Smith. Bud was at the top of his game winning the title and successfully defending against Jimmy Carter. And that was the last fight he won. 11 straight losses into retirement.
