Which fighters 135 or under from any decade could have beaten Floyd at the stage he was at in his career in the late 90`s?

    Roberto Duran
    Henry Armstrong
    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Ike Williams
    Pernell Whitaker

    I'd favour all of those.

Roberto Duran and Pernell Sweet Pea Whittaker. Sweet Pea was elusive and Duran was abusive.

#2 Davey Day was called in to cover Mike Jacobs March 31st (date) to fight Armstrong, as Amber's & Montanez turned down the match. Didn't have a fight 3 1/2 months prior, assigned the bout 2 weeks prior. Day fought Armstrong half blind, half the fight (6th Rd. to 2:49 of the 12th Rd) when the referee looked at Armstrong's bloody face, and said, "You can rest now." in wonderment where he got all of his stamina from? Never saw any fighter throw as many punches as he did. The NY newspaper, mentioned 2000 punches. Armstrong was damaged goods, his right hand broken, deep gash on his left eye lid, requiring 4 stitches, side of face looked like chop liver and severely bruised left hand. Day went back to Chicago with a sore eye. Day offered Armstrong $35,000 for a re-match, he passed. Lou Amber's fought Day in non-title fight 1937 the bell saved Lou from getting knocked out was robbed in a SD. Amber's also turned down $35,000. The N.B.A. stripped him of his Title in 1940 for not fighting Day on March 22nd. Want to know more, put in Davey Day vs. Henry Armstrong in Google. All info is in the description of photo, listed on Ebay. Don't have to bid on the photo, read the description. His main problem was being in the same stable with Barney Ross as his policeman, you had to beat Davey to get a shot at Ross. By the way don't believe what some of the NY sportswriters said, " Day won four Rds. two of them on fouls. I've got clippings that said, "Davey was ahead of Armstrong up to the 10th Rd." Armstrong didn't close Davey's eye with his punches, but with his elbows. This is all true, verified by other NY Newspapers. Thank you.
