Great call. My dad was a big fan of his and I've recently watched some of his old fights online. One of my early boxing memories is Spinks vs. Holmes with my dad and all of his friends.
Pretty much every single hard working club fighter and journeyman in the world will get trashed if you mention them by name on ESB. There's no excuse for that. In many ways those guys are the ****ing back bone of the sport.
Super Denis Lebedev. When you beat a legend, you become one, and Denis destroyed two in consecutive fights. Tonight, he brings excitement with a devastating 2 round war against the hard hitting, highly avoided Steve Cox, one that ignites memories of Hagler-Hearns. Yet all people do is complain. They got the nerve to say Denis never fought nobody, but it's cause Denis makes them look like nobody!
Winky is a very polarizing figure. Very few people are neutral on the guy. I had a grudge against him for a long time because I felt, and still feel, that McKart won their first fight, but I never lost respect for him. After all, he did not judge that fight. Anyway, when you bring up Winky it is inevitable that people will fall into one of two camps. Massive support and respect, or those morons who insist he is boring.
