    I think Greg Page and Tony Tubbs fought five times as amateurs (Page won most) and then Tubbs beat Page for the WBA heavyweight title.

    Ray Mercer outpointed Tommy Morrison as an amateur and then brutally stopped him as a pro.

    Tyrell Biggs beat Francesco Damiani and Lennox Lewis in the 1984 Olympics and was stopped by both as a pro.

    Frank Tate and Michael Nunn fought, I believe, three times as amateurs, with Tate winning the majority, and then Nunn stopped Tate for the IBF Middleweight title.

    Buster Mathis beat Joe Frazier in the 1964 Olympic Trials and Frazier stopped Mathis for a portion of the vacant heavyweight title in 1968.

    Marvis Frazier was knocked out in a matter of seconds by James Broad in the 1980 U.S. Olympic Trials and then Marvis outpointed Broad as a pro in 1983.

    Jermain Taylor beat Kelly Pavlik in the 2000 Olympic Trials and then lost his Middleweight title to Pavlik in 2007 and the rematch to Pavlik a year later.

    Lamon Brewster lost a decision to Nate Jones in the 1996 Olympic Trials and then beat Jones so badly when they fought as pros in 2002 that Jones had to retire because of brain damage. (Nate Jones was the fat guy who wore the chest protector that Floyd Mayweather would always punch in his HBO Prefight shows.) Brewster basically turned Jones into a human heavy bag.

    Cotto lost to Abdullaev in the Olympics and then stopped him as a pro.

    I'm pretty sure that was Jerry Belmontes. I was at that fight in Carson. Belmontes was robbed but the action was solid.

    Wish Iceman John Scully still posted here. That guy was a walking encyclopedia on AM and Pro fights. Not only that, he was an excellent broadcaster and the most unbiased of them all.
