Hey guys. So as the thread title asks, which fighters do you know of incorporated more frequent sparring into their training regimen in place of other more varied conventional training methods? I know Julio Cesar Chavez was one of them, and I believe I read that James Toney did this as well.
Eubank did lots of different things, even step aerobics and personally designed punchbags, martial art training, splits, backbends, mobile shadow boxing that lasted 45mins, etc. His sparring, though, was intense. He found it almost impossible to find sparring partners outside of 3-4 he could regularly use.
Ah yes, I now remember him referring to his trainer calling those who frequently hit heavy bags "Bag beaters. That ain't a fighter, that's a bag beater"
I've always been interested in the benefits of swimming. Everyone seems to prefer roadwork, but swimming seems to have a weightless full-body intensity to it.
