I've been reading through the posts on this thread. I'm a little late, but wanted to weigh in on the Duran-Pryor. First, to stick to the original topic, I think Duran would beat Floyd at Lightweight and the "Montreal" Duran would beat Floyd too.
I loved Arguello, Leonard, and Sanchez. I didn't really like Duran. But I think he was the best Lightweight ever. He would've beaten Arguello at Lightweight and Pryor at 140. I just can't think of a category other than lateral movement than I'd favor Pryor over Duran. Duran's superior technique would be a huge difference in the fight.

Selfkill,i generally enjoy your posts, but you are way off about duran. Remember he beat palamino and LEONARD at 147,at 140 he could have been a demon. The losses to benitez and leonard 3 were at 154 and 160 and have NO bearing at all on what duran was like at 147. 147 duran could have held his own with any welter in history, including robinson.
To say that if leonard had boxed duran in montreal he would have won is a bit weird,i mean why shouldnt the bigger, stronger, faster, younger, more powerful leonard not try to outpunch the lightweight duran? Its only in retrospect that folks think leonard made a mistake in 'fighting' duran. Angelo dundee predicted a knockout by ray beforehand....
ps; the second round bombs that wobbled leonard were caused by durans skill from the outside coming in,leonard was not 'brawling' at this stage. Maybe leonard turned 'brawler' because he had to otherwise he may have been ovewhelmed...Its easy to say ray should have boxed,or hearns should have boxed hagler, but hard when these guys are hurting you and trying to overwhelm you with bombs...

From 130-140 there is no one he couldn't beat. This includes the man who I consider to be the greatest boxer of all time, Benny Leonard. As well as my #3 Pernell Whitaker. Mayweather has a combonation of skills, size and speed. That make him very hard to beat.

I think 140 Floyd was his best weight...he looked extremely fluid in everything he did and had maintained his speed, reflexes and had credible power.

I wish he would have made more of a career there and carved more body work out to better validate my thought.

Obviously someone with the name 'Sweet Pea' will give this response.
I think this is a response more so out of ego lol

Duran, Hearns, prime De La Hoya = maybe, just maybe.
SRR and SRL = They'd win.
Shane Mosley and Luis Manuel Rodriguez is simply taking the **** lol

Hearns would definitely put Mayweather out of his misery, and Johnson would do some unspeakable things to him.
