Other than the obvious ones like Pernell and Tyson, which classic fighters had the best head movement? Who's your top 5?

Benitez's upper body was a perpetual herky jerky motion machine. He was perfectly capable of applying lateral mobility and able to match foot speed with anybody, but more typically he'd adopt a wide flatfooted stance or position himself against the ropes and corners, then drive his attacker daft with elusiveness. "But he's right there!" exclaimed a frustrated SRL to Angelo Dundee during his challenge of Wilfredo.

Randy Shields was also gifted at creating the illusion of his head being available to hit from a certain location before he'd slip away with the deception.

Spinks is underrated in this regard. Excellent upper-body movement in general. Just very thick, stiff legs which gave his movement a very awkward look, but also contributed to his tremendous punching power. He got torque into his blows like few others could manage.

    Among others:

    Zapata
    Lora
young Wilfredo Gomez (awesome upper-body movement)
    Chang
    Duran
    Locche
    Kalule
    Conteh

Nicolino "El Intocable" Locche. Perhaps the greatest defensive master the sport has on film.

what about Frazier and Armstrong was their head movement top notch?

Seems to me that that was key to both of their styles.

hammerin hank, had a great great slipping rhythm, mesmerising to watch once he got into it.

    I like Napoles here.

another good one is Jimmy Wilde, it's astonishing to see him weave his way in with his hands down so low almost automatically and slam a guy.

Certainly. As far as offensive fighters go these guys were among the very best.

Willie Pep. Most of his defense was moving his head and bouncing about. He didn't do much blocking.
