A young Joe Bugner was Ko'd on his Pro Debut, after that a better defence and excelant Chin were displayed, ( if not a great appitite for battle )

Hopkins had a bad start. Pacman did not have a good early part of his career. Hagler early on was not seen as ever being championship quality.

Armstrong, Greb and Saddler were all sparked out early in their careers.

Charles Williams lost a lot early in his career, probably more so then Johnny Nelson.

Jack Britton lost his first two, and the second was a one round starching for the only stoppage defeat of his career. Mike Weaver's career got off to a dreadful start, getting knocked out in three by Howard Smith for his debut. After his first dozen bouts, he was just 6-6, and had been knocked out four times. He's the only heavyweight title claimant to lose to both Duane and Rodney Bobick.
