fernando vargas, I honestly thought he could be #1 p4p. Now I look back and I dont know why, but the truth is that at this time I thought he was that good, he proved me so wrong.
He's been incredibly fortuitous in doing so though. He gets a shot vs Makabu - in a division absolutely stacked with talent - who turned out to be massively overhyped and still almost had him out of there and then won the lottery against Haye with that injury. I mean it's not like Pac wherein I kept picking against him and he kept surprising me because he was that good, it's pretty much the opposite with moany Tony.
Victor Ortiz picked up that mantle and decided to flop even harder than El Feroz. Pre-Maidana I thought he'd at have a Cotto-esque career.
Oh yeah and Audley Harrison v Haye. I bought into Harrison's Rocky montage (running up and down mountains etc and training like a maniac). Thought he'd be too strong for Haye and shelled out £20 on him to KO Haye. It does help if you throw a bunch A-Farce. It is called boxing, not cowering !
Wait, there's a censorship filter on the word for tailed simians??? (m-o-n-k-e-y, for the record) You stupid race-bating morons are why the rest of us can't have nice things.
Well at least if we ever have a legitimate contextual reason to be discussing capuchins or macaques in a broad sense transcending parvorder while still excluding tarsiers (yes I'm prejudiced against tarsiers, stupid bug-eyed creeps), we can always use this emoticon:
lol Please that moniker went out the door down the block and flagged down a cruise ship to the Bahamas after watching freaking Ruben Williams eat everything he had and return the favor 10 fold. Of course the build up to the JC fight was nauseating to say the least, I gave him a small punchers chance.....very small.
I got a weeks holiday for getting around the "very bad word filter", be careful one of the staff don;t get you too...
I was a huge backer of GRJr. Also Gamboa made me dumb and I thought BHop was done and picked Pavlik. Sure there are more, but these immediately came to mind.
