I agree to the extent that people are all different, and they excel in different things. I also agree that we have different ideas about what constitutes intelligence. I say we call it a draw and go on from there.
Archie was also life savvy, something you cannot learn in a book, you are right, a very intelligent man. Some people are shielded as they are growing up and lack the ability to survive the world, they usually get eaten alive. Archie talked to us students about how it is important how you live your life is what matters, he said he did not have the advantages that some people had growing up, great man and fighter. He talked to us about education and obeying the law. He also said boxing is for some people but an education lasts a lifetime. Glad I met him.
Dave Boy Green did very well. I think he took good advice from his manager and together they invested well. I think they were silent partners in a meat packing company. Either way he devoted a lot of his time to charity and received an MBE. I met him once. a very down to earth guy.
Agreed. Tell an Army General that being prepared isn't intelligent! Or a Boxer. Being "prepared" is what separates the winners from the losers.
That is terrible I don't care who it is, it is hard to trust anyone with your money except you. I have great friends who I know I could trust, but if they get married and they don't have a will it could be lost that way, and that is how Butch and Spinks happened. I don't have any money so nothing like that will happen, but Spinks earned that money.
Intellectuals use long words that maybe aren't necessary to get their points across but their vocabularies are so deep that the words flow out of their mouths. It became natural for them. Same as a person like Moore who picks up on things easily. I didn't say your view was solely because the color of his skin. I said it could also be because of his enunciation. As I said earlier, I'm not calling you a racist. I'm saying that a person doesn't have to speak perfectly to be smart and people have a misconception about people who with broken English (which a large number of Black Americans speak with) and intelligence. I could be totally incorrect about your perspective. I cant read minds. However there a tons of people who think that way. I won't reply back because I don't want to turn this thread into something that it shouldn't be.
Oh, right? So I'm only half a racist? I gave my reasons. I never mentioned his enunciation, and why? Because it had nothing to do with his enunciation. Why do you feel the need to look for further reasons when you acknowledge that you can't read minds? You're just suggesting my views are only based partly on the colour of his skin... This content is protected Before I read your idiotic comments, I'd never felt the need to ignore someone on this forum.
