Actually, there was a $750,000 offer on the table for Duran to fight Pryor and Pryor who was in the midst of changing managers decided not to sign it. After they did decide the offer was worth signing Duran had moved on to other opportunities. Too bad cause that would have been a barn burner.

The fighters who are on the lower end of the scale, who don't have the leverage, they can't afford to be as selective with their opposition.

Sugar Ray Leonard was a huge star, so he could cherry-pick (in the late 80s) big names for big money when there were better fighters out there. Or give what some believe was a "low-ball" offer to Aaron Pryor (although it was far more than Pryor had ever made).

Pacquiao, Mayweather, they can pick and choose since damn near everyone wants to fight them for the money and exposure. And suckers keep buying the fights.

But someone on the outside looking in, hoping for a big chance? The Black Murderers Row? Correct me if I am forgetting any, but I don't recall Mike McCallum avoiding fighters. They couldn't afford to.

JMM avoided the first Pacman rematch by way of out-pricing himself.. THen he was offered a fight with Morales and avoided it the same way.. If he was not avoiding them, then why did he fought John for 30k? :think

Using your logic, Pacquiao fought Barrera, MOrales and Marquez.. Barrera fought the other two.. How about Morales and Marquez? :huh

Someone get me that video of Floyd tellin him right to his face.

Then someone get that video of Margarito beatin down Cotto, makin it the PERFECT time for a Floyd fight.

But Floyd let Margarito take his money, while he sat on the sidelines like a hoe.

Nearly all journeymen, you know the types, who are always well over matched and give young prospects rounds and take beatings.

They are the real brave men in boxing in my opinion.

99.9% have never ducked anyone as they love fighting. Don't let a few fanatical Brit fans, Povetkin and ex Pac fans now GG fans distract you from this. You had Bowe, Ottke in recent history who IMO blatantly ducked a fighter, but it's very rare a boxers love fighting.

Some fans can't understand this becaue it's novel to say that this guy ducked that guy. Canelo could be on the list, but I'm just lurking. I'm not a now guy like some of you clowns are. I wait and then decide.

We are talking ducking moron. I went up to Povetkin and asked his big ass painting frame head for a fight just the other day. He never said a word to me. Povetkin ducked me.

The only real way to legitimately answer this question is to pick out the guy who has the most combind wins and losses .... That guy fought everybody put in front of him win/lose/draw something like an extreme journeyman

    Nobody at the championship level.

Because enough people knew them, called them out, wanted to fight them, and were ranked in their division at the time yet there's never been a champion who fought every contending ranked opponent in his division. There will always be another name that ones' opinion could elevate into fitting the criteria of a "duck."

Max Baer wanted a rematch with Joe Louis. Clamored for it a lot. It never happened. That alone is enough for most, if consistent, to claim "Joe Louis ducked Max Baer."
