Ive seen every tyson fight atleast 5 times. And he has nothing to do with this thread.

    Loma is not a counterpuncher.
Just because you throw coumterpunches doesnt mean thats what you are stylistically or mentally. Loma is not a fighter who sits back and waits. Being a counterpuncher is a mindset.

Leading and then countering the counter doesnt make you a counterpuncher either, it makes you very good however.

Nobody is questioning lomas ability. But counterpunching is just not the primary tool in his arsenal. His best performances are when his opponents dont even know what to do because theyre overwhelmed by Lomas leading.

Napoles and Sanchez have my vote, that's a viewpoint i've held for long while, what i have seen of Lomachenko, doesn't alter that viewpoint.

Well, you just named one, esp at the weight they fought. How bout M McCallum? Bernard Hopkins? I can't believe you listed the Griffith fight, esp considering he was winning (Jones)the prior to the DQ and the 2nd fight was a 1st rd blow out , and the Calazaghe fight was over 10yrs after the Griffith fight, and everyone knew Jones was completely shot by the time the Calzaghe fight took place. Obviously you only started watching boxing just recently if you don't know those key facts. Or your intentional omitting it to push your agenda. Like I could push the fact Lomo lost to Salido a relative nobody. And omit that it was his 2nd pro fight. What your doing is very easy to do.

Lol I’m sure all his “No Mas” opponents would all heartedly agree, how many no Mas jobs in a row was it?that s*** is unheard of,sheer pressure of him buzzing round like a fly and throwing unseen punches just makes his opponents want out quick time.

No point in comparing him to anyone, best just to say he’s one of the best pressure fighters there’s been for sure.

That’s why Rigondeux was so insufferable to watch at times, there were times where he just wouldn’t throw unless he was countering

Floyd and JMM were better at counterpunching than Loma, for starters.

Loma throws more counters than those two though and if not certainly lands more, if he fought Floyd`s opponents he would of landed more counters against those guys.

Man you are thick. Nobody is saying Lomachenko can't fight. He's probably the best in the world right now.

What everybody here is saying that countering is not his specialty nor his bread and butter.
Yeah he can counter but he prefers to get his opponent to shell up and have to constantly readjust his feet and aim by overwhelming him with pressure, angles and activity rather than wait to counter like a Rigondeaux, Jones or Floyd.

Jones was awful in his first fight against Griffin and landed next to nothing until the end! Count how many jabs Jones missed in that fight even though he had a huge reach advantage and then watch how Lome out jabbed Linares he had a reach advantage on him and was a far better combo puncher than Griffin at his respective weight and a far more active puncher making it harder to counter him without being countered, nobody would agree that Jones`s performance against Griffin was a better display of counter punching than that of Loma`s vs Linares, simply count how many counters Loma landed compared to Jones, not even close.

Jones waited far too much and should have learned to bait a lot better, a very nervous fighter indeed.
