I love how people argue Loma "is not a counterpuchner". That means he doesn't throw good counter punches at times? You idiots need to stop this this pigeon holing. Just because a fighter isn't labeled with a certain category it doesn't mean he can't throw a certain variety of punches.

?. i just figured he was talking style, like when someone says a fighter isnt a defensive fighter, nobody assumes theyre saying the guy never ducks or blocks a punch, its just not what he is known for. when people say jmm is a counterpuncher, do you believe they are saying he never throws a punch first?

Ok let me ask you this. Say an elite chef is known for his world-class seafood dishes. Does that mean his deserts are not world class?

Yes, there's a difference between someone who can counter punch effectively and someone who builds his game plan around it. I would argue a counter puncher uses that as his primary means of scoring. Loma does not. But when the opportunity presents itself, he will counter. YouTube videos are a waste of time because anyone can edit together clips to make someone seem any style of fighter they want...

i dont get the connection, nobody pays money to watch chefs bake, so theres no need to look for ways to describe his style of baking when watching him perform. tell me, when you hear the term pressure fighter, do you jump to the conclusion that they think this guy never takes a step backward.

This guy is on point. He sets traps and waits for the opponents reaction. He will have most likely practiced every scenario hundreds of times so he ready for what ever the opponents reaction is. You could look at it as a counter after setting a trap.

This is the best breakdown you will see of his style. Which is why opponents are quitting against him, his style is to basically disable opponents. It also becomes obvious after watching the videos below why Salido had the success he did by charging in and throwing constant body blows.

Are you seriously throwing out what happened in a fight with a 40 year old Roy to support your already weak argument? Holy sh!t! some of you guys on here are delusional. Also Roy is the reason Toney looked awful that night. Knock it off you sound like a hater.

Quote Roy Jones : punch 1st and when your opponent counters , then counter his counter.

He didn`t do that in his first fight against Griffin and Loma is far better at punching first to draw a counter so he can counter.
