Don't forget the baiting to draw a punch he can then counter.

I love Loma very much, this beautiful man.
However counter punching is not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of him, he is a world class counter puncher but far from being in top 10 ATG

Jones is known for not having fought strong competition, Toney was on bad form and out of shape, Hopkins got far better after the Jones fight before that he wasn`t very good at all.

anyone can arrange circumstances to promote a biased opinion. i can say loma has been fighting midgets, old midgets at that. the only guys hes fought his own size put him on his ass or beat him. what other fighter has he beaten that is big enough to fight at 135 successfully?
    its not hard.

Linares wasn`t Loma`s size because Loma was moving up in weight so gave away a height, reach and power edge to a fighter with some of the quickest combo`s I`ve ever seen.

Lomachenko is fantastic but it’s threads like this that drive me nuts. Less than a dozen fights in with his best win versus a finely skilled 38 year old fighting two divisions above his natural weight class and now he’s the greatest counter puncher of all time.

The challenge here is to separate the fan boys seeking validation and supportive delusions from those who are fans of the sport first.

linares and loma weighed the exact same weight for their weigh in, that is a fact, the rest can be attributed to different body shapes, because again, they weighed the exact same. the rest, just like youre comments about toney and b-hop, is opinion and assumption, just like the comments i made about loma. see, its not hard to delude yourself to push an agenda.

Lightweight is not Loma`s natural weight, it doesn`t matter what he weighed at the weigh in, there are loads of cases in boxing where fighters have moved up in weight and been overpowered, yes Jones moved up to heavyweight but he fought a slow heavy that didn`t land any power punches like the one Linares decked Loma with, no way could Jones have come back from that, if Jones had moved up to cruiser and fought a fantasy cruiser with the combo punching ability of Linares who would be overpowered and too scared to counter, Loma throws more counter punches than Jones did because often when punched at Jones would back away or just cover up on the ropes where his countering wasn`t as good as Mayweather`s, pick any fight where Floyd is pinned on the ropes and count the counters he lands from the shoulder roll compared to how Jones couldn`t counter Griffin in their first fight while pinned on the roes, depite blowing Griffin away in their rematch by throwing all caution to the wind and taking risks.
