Kryptonite, as in they seemingly had the other guys number, regardless of the circumstances... And they could do things to said fighter that no one else could. Foreman/Frazier? Mosely/Wright? Hoya/Mosley? McClellan/Jackson?
At the moment or course Pavlik seems to have Taylors Number Going Back Sanchez vs Lopez There will be many situations whereby a fighter has gone 2-0 up against another fighter, Ali Vs Quarry, Frazier vs Quarry Liston vs Patterson ect ect.
Sort of like Tyson Holyfield. Young Corbett was not afraid of McGovern and was prepared to use his own tactics against him, going to the inside while everybody else just tried to get the hell away from him. Corbett showed no respect for McGovern before the fight. He hammered on his dressingroom wall shouting "Come and get your beating you Irish Rat". McGovern like Tyson used his oponents fear as a first like of defence. McGovern just got taken to a place he had never been before and drowned. A largely intriguing and valid pick, mate. Good stuff- I really enjoyed reading the article. My initial choice upon seeing this thread was Holy/Tyson. Other than that probably Clay/Liston (it's no mean feat at all to frustrate and make Liston quit as least once). :good
Arguable. Did Barkley really prove he could beat Hearns every time? The first fight he was being dismantled before landing that big shot, the second fight was a close win over an old faded Hearns. IMO he wasn't Hearns kryptonite. To answer the thread, Vernon Forrest would always beat Shane Mosley. He was 2-0 against him in the amatuers I believe and 2-0 against him in the pro ranks.
