Maloney was screwed over. There have been countless blokes that have been ****ed over by the judges and dodgy promoters.

Gangsters in suits to coin the phrase of Israel Adesanya when he mentioned certain people involved in the UFC. Boxing is obviously no different. Well it is probably in the fact that it's about 10 times worse.

Jeff Fenech was ****ed over in 91 only to have that decision reversed over 3 decades later.

Many would say Oscar vs robbed vs Tito Trinidad back in September 99. Lewis vs Holyfield number 1 that same year?

LOL at one judge scoring the fight a draw for Canelo vs Floyd. He barely won a round it was that one sided.

    Corrupt as ****.

Pernell Whitaker was robbed of his first world title against Jose Luis Ramirez.

Fighting Harada was robbed of his third divisional title against Johnny Famechon, which would have made him the first man to have ever held a title at Flyweight, Bantamweight and Featherweight.

Jimmy Young was robbed of the Heavyweight title against a borderline shot Ali in 1977, the first of another 1-2 cases of Ali being gifted a win.

Dave Tiberi was robbed of his title shot against Toney and never managed to become a champion.

Dennis Hogan against Munguia which really pissed me off as an Irishman. I'll always hold that against Mexican judges.

Yep robbed of being undisputed. Probably the lowest point for boxing this year.

Yeah, kinda feel for him there. After a torrid late 90s with the Tyson and Grant capitulations, he came back from a long break looking sharp and reinvigorated and up for it, then got substantially screwed (and fighting two guys - Ruiz and Byrd - who were infamously hard to look good against unless you wiped them out).

Hagler, they did everything they could to keep him away from the title. At first he was being ducked and avoided, had to take the tough philly route and got robbed along the way.
Dude was 46-2-1 when he finally got a title shot in his 50th fight....

Even congress had to get involved with Ted Kennedy threatning Bob Arum to look in to the shady stuff of boxer if Hagler was still denied a title shot. So he finally gets the titleshot against Antuefermo but gets robbed on the cards again with a bs draw.

Had to fight a few more times and wait another year to be finally middleweight champ while English racists were making it rain beer bottles om him.
If he wasn robbed and denied he could have been champion much longer, break Monzon's record and undeniably be the middleweight goat.

While him being denied and screwed over was a theme in his career so is his determination to not give up and keep going, hard work and grit to accomplish your dreams despite the wishes of the boxing establishment.
To me Marvelous Marvin Hagler is an inspiration and favourite boxer cause of this even if I was born when he already retired. True working class hero.

"I remember everything they did to me. I'll never forgive them," says Hagler, referring to the WBA and WBC. With his shaven head and hairy lip and chin, the champion takes on a Mephistophelian look when angry. "I want to stay bitter. I use it; I feed on it. That's why I put myself in jail like this to train for a fight. I want to be mean. All I want to think of is destruction. Then nobody can take from me what's mine. The only way they'll get the title from me is to kill me."

Jose Armando Santa Cruz against then lineal LW champion Joel Casamayor. One of the worst robberies I've ever seen.
