This vid show four ways to evade and counter the lead hand, but which fighters were the most adept at dealing with an opponents jab?

Emile's counter-jab was always impressive to me.

Sandy Saddler was really good at taking away your jab. One of the best ever. George Foreman did the same as a heavyweight. Both were excellent at checking the lead hand. But neither were great counter-punchers. Ken Norton had a brilliant counter-jab where he'd catch the jab with his palm and fire his own jab. It was automatic. Roy Jones and James Toney countered the jab really well. Slip the jab and counter with a right cross. Evander Holyfield countered Bowe's jab effectively in their second fight.

Yes I saw a vid stating that SAaddler taught Foreman to out stretch his arms as he came in to defend and parry punches the same way Sandy did. Norton countered Ali`s jab well in their first bout, Futch told him to jab with Ali as 'the greatest' threw his jabs.

Supposely, Jack Johnson caught a lot of punches "out of the air" with an open glove.

Watch Duran Leonard 1, Roberto completely neutralized Ray's fine jab by slipping and drilling him making it a close quarters fight. Before the fight Ray said he was planning on moving to avoid Durans right and use his jab, after the fight he was asked why he didn't and he said," I couldn't" that fight is a joy to watch in slow mo for the subtle masterfully slick moves by both guys.

Roy Jones deserves a nod, too.
