Which fighters were the best at the block and counter jab in the history of boxing?

    I know Louis was a master at the block then counter jab, I also saw a film study showing Tyson using the counter well also but which other fighters were the best at these moves?

    Pernell Whitaker and Ike Quartey come to mind. Both different style fighters that worked behind the jab. Pernell would make you miss and counter with the jab and quartey would work with his high guard blocking and countering.

    I think Louis was the master. Maybe there were others who were as effective as him but noone did it as smoothly or naturally as Louis.
