see topic To make it interesting lets not state the obvious for example we all know hatton would benefit greatly going back down to 140 (assuming focused on boxing) but what about a guy like judah going back down to 140? or cintron or clottey moving up to 154 where there is next to no competition (both could also unify) outside maybe forrest or a spinks. thoughts?
I'm not even sure any welterweight in history has had an 84" reach, certainly not a champion who springs to mind.
Paul Williams will move up to 154lbs at some point in his career. He's a very big welterweight in terms of height and wingspan. 6' 1" with a whopping 84" reach, which is truely astonishing considering the division. He even out-does Hearns when combining height and reach together. I'd be pretty amazed if Williams makes the weight easy. All said and done, he does keep himself in shape between fights. But going up to light-middleweight is inevitable, especially when he's ready to hit 30.
yea he has a chance to be a very special boxer at 147 or even 154 i really like the way how hes picking his competition taking the cintron fight (he would later pull out i personally think he never wanted that fight) and a good boxer in quintana who i had winning the cotto fight before the ko. also a underrated fact is he loves being the underdog in terms of where he fights he was in cali (margarito hometown) and will fight in puerto rico i believe which is quintana hometown
i been here since march but i havent posted much becuz of schooling (this semester was a killa) I love boxing and esb has a cool forum, but to answer your question i'm from ny
Ricky should go back to 140 and take a fight with Pac and/or Diaz Mayorga should go back to 147 as he has said he would and lobby for a fight with Cotto. Shane might do better to go back up to 154
