Pick just one fighter per division that you would favour to beat Floyd per weight class or who has the best chance of beating him. - Junior-lightweight: Arguello - Lightweight: Duran - Junior-welterweight: Aaron Pryor - Welterweight: Tommy Hearns - Junior-middleweight: Mike McCallum
130: Arguello has the best chance 135: I favor Duran 140: I think Aaron Pryor is 50-50 147: I strongly favor Sugar Ray Robinson 154: I strongly favor Thomas Hearns
- Junior-Lightweight: it's tempting to say Arguello here, but I don't think Arguello gets it done. His struggles with movement and lost because of it. I can't see that working too well against the best version of Floyd. Instead, I'm gonna nominate the three worst match-ups for him. Armstrong, Saddler and Fenech. All three present different issues, but they're all gonna be tough, rough and can't punch enough. - Lightweight: Duran is the easiest pick, for the same reasons I mentioned above. Some like to argue that Duran's particular style of pressure fighting has a slight weakness to movers and I think that has some merit, but I can't watch the Buchanan fight and see Floyd winning. - Junior-welterweight: Aaron Pryor is another easy pick for all the reasons mentioned. Instead, I'm gonna pick Jose Napoles. Every bit as skilled as Floyd, more talented and a bad style match-up, I wouldn't pick anyone below 147 I'd pick to stop Mayweather but Napoles has the best chance imo. - Welterweight: Now, for me, Floyd at 147 is not the same level as he is below it. Below it, he's top 5 at lowest, but above it? Not top 10 is definitely on the cards. For me, you can pull any name out of a hat from Gavilan, Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Napoles and Robinson. They are all favourites and notably so. I'm gonna say Leonard is the worst match-up though, I see zero way Floyd wins that one. - Junior-middleweight: Tommy Hearns. Everyone can figure out why Hearns is so bad for Floyd.
