Which fights do you suspect were fixed in order not to ruin another, major fight?

Hm, I never considered that. Though I consider that a robbery.

LOL Im glad to. And I didnt feel disrespected by your question. It's all good. :)

You know, my sister looked a lot like Neve Campbell when we (including Neve) were all younger. At the time, when i asked my dr. for sexual reassignment surgery (and was denied based on the status of my type I diabetes) I thought about the possibility I was going to look a bit like Neve too....so I used to picture myself as Neve lol...(I also used to see myself a bit like Molly Ringwald before Neve was famous, when i was a teen, based on the fact EVERYONE spoke about my prominent lips haha)

Sorry if this was TMI. I just thought I'd mention that. But yeah , those are the two women I saw myself more or less as when young...

I’m sure you weren’t the only one. Hearns looked awesome in the lead up to the Hagler fight.

Langford v Ketchel so Ketchel could challenge Johnson.

Well ALL Ducked & Avoided fighters were avoided for those very reasons,

but Yes, some were obvious as decisions to fight or not were made evident in Reports written, as were Challenges & Arrangements made for other fights Reported on, proving the much needed outcomes for avoidance and/or robbed decisions against such fighters.

None of them that I've seen no proof of. I'm talking of pre-arranged results regarding all parties.

It'a a rabbit hole i really wouldn't want to go down at any rate.

If we expand/change "fixed" to actually equal judges being paid off n case of a close fight then that might be another matter altogether but again it's not something i'd like to "suspect" lightly. Where guys like Don King are involved however it's very likely, obviously.

The sort of fight I'd be potentially suspecting would be one like Michael Spinks - Eddie Davis. The Spinks - Qawi rematch was already virtually set. Now while i don't agree Eddie won the fight some people do and it's entirely fair to say it was a reasonably close competitive fight.

One card had it 115-114 Spinks which many would consider a reasonable card yet the other two cards 119-109 and 118-111. I find that a little bit suspect and i wouldn't like my life to be riding on it being above board.

I remember when I saw it live I had it 119-109 for Davis lol...for years I believed that too, until I rewatched it on You Tube. Now, again, remember, I was an 11-year-old girl who had just recently (Hagler-Duran) learned how fights are scored in rounds by 10-9 , 10-8 in a knockdown round and very rarely, 10-10 or 10-7. Many times, I gave rounds based on hell knows what I was thinking.

Nowadays, I have it from 114-114 to 117-111 for Spinks every time I rewatch it. But Davis did not deserve a 119-109 against him. If anything, a 115-113 card either way would have been justifiable, or 114-114 or the 115-114 card which I believe was Carol Castellano's for Spinks, but there is no way Spinks won 119-109, no ah!

ex champ Alan Minter was robbed against Mustafa Hamsho in order that Hamsho get a shot at Hagler.

that kind of result happens all the time.

That fight wasn't a robbery. You simply have to be kidding yourself.

Randall Cobb once put it to me this way, and said he wasn’t just talking about boxing: Big money always takes an angle on small money.

I don’t think it’s so much a case of judges/ref being paid off or someone being told to lie down or having the cuffs put on as the money fighter gets the edge because everyone knows where their bread is buttered (not so much the opponent of course, but officials).

No way was the decision going to Alan. It was close but Mustufa didn’t win.
