BUt after the 6th you knew it would be hard for oscar to live up to that pace as is stanima wasn't the same as it was 4 years previously. It was a great win for floyd, none the less.

It was a closer fight than i imagined i thought it would be a shutout mainly due to floyd defensive skills.

the reason i'm brining up this topic is i think i heard once that someone close to Floyd (Floyd Sr i think) said to beat Floyd what you need a good stick. I was wondering if Floyd had faced that kind of test in his career. Like a Quartey, or Forrest, or just someone with a damn good jab.

You're right that Oscar is a great fighter but in my eyes no longer a prime fighter since his 2nd loss to Mosley in 2003 (robbery or not).

I think a 1999 Oscar would edge out Floyd. But thats more a comment on how far Floyd was out of his element at welter.

yup it was...ODH fought a good fight...he is far or was then from being washed up...like someone else mentioned...who else at 147 would have beat him that night....esp when he was 16 lbs less the night of the fight...he showed serious skills to pull that fight out down the stretch

Very true, thats why I hope pac beats oscar and that hopefully sets up a fight for hatton if he gets past paulie which is no certainty. Because hatton at 147 v oscar would be a one sided decision unfortunately.

it would be a great fight no doubt...i just question ODH down the stretch in tight fights...(quartey aside)...floyd ALWAYS fins a way to win

Because he disrepected him like crazy and said that he was gonna "knock that ma****a out". He didn't have to go for the kill, but he shouldn't act like he is going to either unless he's going to at least attempt to mix it up.

he will not beat malignaggi and DEFINITELY wont beat pacman...Hatton should not even be sanctioned to fight ODH at 147...pbf pushed him around and he is not known for his strength...ODH would KILL him..I can't believe oscar wanted to fight hatton??? I want to see malignaggi and pac...paulie has the skill set to give pac trouble

It's not a figure a speech. Floyd wasn't gatti status in that fight, but his face wasn't clean either by the time the press conference came around. Floyd had never been stuffed with the jab like that, and if DLH had any power in his right hand he would've hurt Floyd as he landed some nice overhands while PBF was on the ropes.

he has power esp when he was way bigger with punchers gloves...mayweather is tougher than people give him credit for..he has never been down (aside from hurting his hand) he fights to win...he doesnt take risks but he has his share of ko's...most notably hernandez manfrdy corrales chavez and hatton
