Which former champs at 154 or 160 could have floored Jack Johnson?

I'm leaning towards the staged part. The more I look at it the more I think that's the case.

Does anyone really believe that it was legit KD? This fight looks all like a fake to me. Ketchel tried his best, but it's clear that Johnson didn't try to stop him.

My, not especially well founded, opinion is that Johnson was basically caught cold. He'd been toying with Ketchell.

It's one of the fights that makes me really not give Langford a decent chance against Johnson. I think Johnson was a stylistic nightmare as well as just a better heavyweight.

Fair enough but was 154 Oscar`s natural weight? Mosley started at lightweight too.

It was neither of the natural weights, but they were all around that weight around the same time, Mosely may be a year behind, but any matchup of these 3 at 154 pounds would have a true competitive 154 clash of the ages

I'd say no matter how big you are, be careful who you let unload on you. Anyone in the 155-165 pound range, who knows how to hit, can be trouble for anybody.

As to the OP's question, I believe a prime Bob Fitzsimmons could have decked Johnson. Sam Langford also comes to mind. He did have an Alphabet belt of the times.

no middle is knocking down or beating jack johnson , even in a non staged fight Ketchel loses worse than this fight!
