Briedis hasn't done enough to warrant this

    Yet he gave Usyk hell.

And Usyk would beat literally 95% of legitimate heavyweight champions that ever lived.

    Jai would beat Michael Bentt.

Sorry but I feel Usyk beat Breidis convincingly and there are many heavies who have a bigger reach than Usyk, my point is that despite Usyk fighting guys with a longer reach he can still beat them Breidis has never proven that and neither has Jai, Breidis trying to hit Usyk isn`t the same as trying to hit AJ or Fury who are more powerful and have longer reaches, just because Usyk did it doesn`t mean the shorter armed Breidis could, he doesn`t have Mike Tyson`s power, there`s no way a fighter with a 75 inch reach and Breidis power would stand a chance v AJ or Fury maybe Jai would fair better but if the short rmed Breidis could catch Jai what would Fury do?

Reigning Cruiserweight champ and gave Usyk a tough fight so they can't beat him ? For all you know he could've lost to Parker or Kabayel, he probably wouldn't but we don't know

Nobody is suggesting Opetaia, or even Breidis would beat Ali or Foreman. But there are plenty of HW champions that they would likely take care of.

You and your mate are carrying on like Opetaia is some sort of bum. His formline through Breidis (and therefore Usyk) is evidence that he is a well above average CW champion and would be a nightmare for plenty of former HW strap holders.

Most big heavyweights would give most cruiser champs major problems due to power and reach, most quick heavyweights would be a nightmare for any cruiser because that`s the only advantage a cruiser would have over a heavyweight, 50% or 60% or maybe 70% of former heavyweight champs have hit as hard or harder than Jai does, he doesn`t bring much to the table that`s special at heavyweight, the smaller the fighter the more chance of Jai having success.

There is a lot of strength to that arguement, however there have been quite a few British world champs pre 90`s though.
    Matt Wells World 1914 – 1915
    John H. Stracey WBC, The Ring 1975 – 1976
    Lloyd Honeyghan
    Maurice Hope
    Bob Fitzsimmons World 1891 – 1894
Randy Turpin NYSAC, NBA, The Ring 1951
Terry Downes NYSAC, The Ring 1961
    Alan Minter
    Bob Fitzsimmons World 1903 – 1905
Freddie Mills NYSAC, NBA, The Ring 1948 – 1950
    John Conteh WBC 1974 – 1977

Yes I know that but boxing is a much more global sport now and it has been for a few decades.

Err wrong I'm a fan of Opetaia but to say guys like Morrison, Byrd, Mercer or Thomas couldn't beat Opetaia is ridiculous, Gassiev got handled by Wallin and he was a cruiserweight champ. I think he'd do well against 2nd tier champs of the past regardless

I’ll say it again. Michael Bentt.

If you don’t think Opetaia has a solid chance against Tommy Morrison then you’re dreaming. The myth of Morrison grows with every passing day around here. Who did he beat, really? Ruddock? Razor was shot to pieces by the time Tommy got to him and beat nobody of any real note afterwards. Foreman? He ran like a startled hare from George for 12 rounds.

Tommy Morrison is a myth. He was a Wilder-type of can-crusher who failed almost every major test he ever faced. Opetaia, in my view, boxes the ears off him.

And yet it's still a better resume than Opetaia as it stands right now. He had massive power in both hands and could box unlike Wilder that comparison is just disingenuous

You're not understanding I already said Opetaia would have a great chance at beating 2nd tier champs like Morrison and Moorer but this crap about them not having a chance against any decent fighter today has to stop. Morrison is better than half the top 10 heavyweights today. Opetaia could lose to Akinwande and Tucker for all you know
