    In modern times likely Tyson.

If you go way back, I find Dempsey and Johnson fans to be prone to ignore their ring results and limitations.

Sometimes the Marciano fans who lean too heavily on his undefeated record and overrate him, but a man can only fight the best in this times, which Rocky did.

And the most recent one.. Tyson Fury. According to some ,the most talented man to ever win the linear heavy weight championship.

This, many times over. The descriptions of Fury from his fanbase compared to what I've seen from the actual fighter have me scratch my head. He's certainly a top level modern heavyweight, but not this ultimate technical destroyer that he's made out to be.

Defintly rocky marciano, he was a atg for sure, but alot of his fans think he can literally beat up anyone that ever lived, I've seen posters on here saying that he could beat foreman, liston, wladamir, tyson, literally everyone.

I also thought schmeling gets a bit more recognition than most, he was a good scientific fighter but most people on here have him above max baer even though baer demolished a prime schemling with ease.

Rocky Marciano by huge margin. Then maybe Louis, who tends to beat anybody anytime. Fury among the "active" ones.

I'd say Ali only because it seems as if there isn't even an imagined scenario where he could lose or be given a tough fight. And people talk about him being unhittable in his prime. I just watched Ali/Folley and Folley landed several shots against a prime Ali.

Yeah I say people tend to underrate Tyson more than overrate him. The worst criticisms are he dominated a weak era and he never beat a prime ATG, ignoring the fact that most champions never beat a fellow ATG in his prime. Holmes also tends to get underrated as well.

Yeah Foreman hit hard and is definitely one of the top ATG heavyweight bangers, no doubt about it. But his punching power does seemed to get blown way out of proportion based on his KO's of Frazier and Norton chiefly. It's as if stopping them means he's in another universe of punching power when compared even to SHW power punchers like Ruddock, Lewis, Wlad etc. Granted, he MAY hit somewhat harder than them, the difference certainly isn't what it's made out to be, especially considering a prime Foreman was smaller than any modern SHW. So it's not outside the realm of possibility that a SHW power puncher could at least, possess close to the power of a prime Foreman.

I don't know.....Ali was never shy about saying he'd have beaten anyone. That's why I think what he said about Rocky was his legit feelings. Consider the fact that all of the best guys Rocky beat were on paper, still better than him.

Let me just add that all of that he was a mixed bag of a person. He did a lot peace negotiations with Arab countries and people got teary eyed when he held the Olympic torch, but he was also a serial adulterer who had crappy relationships with several of his kids and was very publicly racist for years on end.

Zora was about 36 years old when Ali gave him a title shot.
