    Marciano, hands down.

You could make a strong case for almost any of the consensus Top 10 types deserving honorable mention.

Dempsey gets credit in head to head matchups for abilities to beat the kinds of heavies he never remotely beat.

It's usually the Marciano and Dempsey guys but there is clearly a Sullivan epidemic at the moment ..

    1. Rocky Marciano
    2. Sonny Liston (I'm guilty as charged)
    3. Lennox Lewis
But I've only been on this forum for under a year. I see more experienced members say these things come in waves.

Rocky Marciano isn't a heavyweight. But his fans are the worse. Still living in their fantasy world where a 180 pound slow club fighter who couldn't even beat Ted Lowry and Roland LaStarza could beat modern sized heavyweights. You could also throw in Gene Tunney, Jack Dempsey, Harry Greb fans who also believe 170-180 pound guys would beat modern sized guys.

Then you can add Ali, Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, Wladimir and Vitali Klisthcko, Tyson Fury, Muhammad Ali, and Miike Tyson fans.

Ali, Johnson, Marciano and Dempsey for sure, and Liston has a fair share as well
