Which Former Heavyweight Champ Has The Most" Rose Coloured Glasses," Wearing Fans?

Tyson and Wlad. People for some reason think Tyson was some extremely fast starter who fought with a non stop onslaught. Truth is he was easy as hell to clinch.

I don't know how people overrate Wlad. Just watch one of his fights. He has crap stamina and clinches alot. Nothing skillful about that at all. He would be lucky to get a shot at the title in other eras.

Tyson would knock Wlad out before he got a chance to clinch simple as that.

He was actually quite good. I don't dislike his chances in a hypothetical matchup with Stanley Ketchel.

Marciano was a great, great fighter. I agree partially or strongly with all the statements above except 6. Either we are both deluded or you are not among the great basket of the deluded.

 

Frazier beats Marciano imo. Frazier's very famous loses to Foreman gets him underrated. He was a pitbull who got manhandled by a presa carnario.

Frazier may have been undefeated when he lost to Foreman, and technically Frazier was the best Heavyweight in the world..on paper..in 1972, but both fights that year showed joe was no longer the man who beat Ali. With hindsight that was not the real Joe Frazier that Foreman beat.The earlier Frazier, that version, stands up very well, he already proved himself so that loss is not reflective to the legacy Frazier should have.

There was nothing on Foremans record to predict he would have dealt with Frazier so easily. This is why Frazier was the favourite. And If Foreman had to fight Ali to get that shot at Frazier, Foreman might never have been champion. So It kind of adds up that Foreman wound up losing to the guy Joe beat. And also that Frazier never beat Ali again.

Obviously Foreman redeemed himself with his impressive comeback but he was a very inexperienced champion first time around with great career timing.
