Pretty much all the major HW champs have their share of delusional nuthuggers. Ali's fans consider him unbeatable. Louis's fans think he was one of the greatest pure boxers ever and a huge H2H threat to any other fighter in history. Vitali's fans refuse to accept he ever lost. Dempsey's fans think the fact he beat Willard means he beats all other SHWs.

Marciano fans used to be pretty unreasonable, but a lot of them seem to have come to their senses lately and accept his failings. Lennox fans tend not to be too OTT and Lennox could at least back up most of their boasts anyway.

My vote would be either Dempsey or Louis fans, as neither party seems to be particularly in touch with reality as regards their man.

Say what you want about Ali fans, but let his resume do the talking. His fans don't need to talk. I don't anyone would disagree that he wasn't unhittable.

Boring in the 70's??? The FOTC, Norton fights, RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE, THRILLA IN MANILLA ??? Yes he was a little overrated from 76-78 but you all have to agree Ali would give any former heavyweight problems.

People who say life is great are a little too excited. But some people in my circle have become depressed lately, so finally life is not getting overrated like it used to.

Yep, Smokin' Joe would have grinded down Marciano.

Marvin Hart was KO'd by Mike Shreck and Bill Hanrahan, avenged neither.

Jack Sharkey was KO'd by Quintin Rojas, unavenged, James J Braddock was stopped by Lou Scozza, unavenged. Joe Walcott was stopped by Abe Simon, unavenged. Leon Spinks was stopped by Rocky Sekors, unavenged.

??? Purttiy was too old to re-match. Sanders died, but a rematch was possible had he won his last fight.

Wlad had a re-match Brewster, and it was a case of revenge via a relentless Jab.

Wlad also re-matched Carlos Monroe, who was DQ'd in their first fight.

These " new " posters don't fool me. They are as bad as Dino and Hero, lacking factual data, and trying to frame their arguments against results and reason. Hmmm... might there be a dup account or two here?

he had plenty time to face them both, purrity wasnt too old for a LONG time, he beat up wlad when he was 31 or 32 and fought on for another 11 years, and immediately after wlad fought a whole slew of opponents older than Puritty. You talk shyte Mendoza.

Wlad just didnt becasue he didnt want another embarrasing loss. he was clearly waiting for them to pick up career ending injuries first like with brewster. if corrie had survived getting shot, no doubt wlad would have come out all brave for a rematch

one eyed brew had no chance of beating anyone half decent.

Lets look at it another way. Frazier's lucky Foreman didn't come along a few years earlier. He may never have beat Ali and potentially have ever been champ.

But my point is a few years earlier Frazier was an even better fighter, otherwise, if he wasn't, how come he was unable to beat Ali again?

Style advantage is one thing and career development is another. For his vast natural talent Foreman was still too green and not quite mature enough to ever reach his potential within the time limit of his first career.

A few years earlier Foreman might have been forced to fight many more live opponents in that highly competative WBA serries that they did. Sure he was good enough to win that thing but it would have been more intresting than the path he did take to the title shot he got in 1973.

I cannot understand when Ali faced so many contenders 71-72 Foreman was not matched with a single one of them. Was Sadler waiting for the division to wear itself out against each other whilst preserving young George from the outskirts? Look at Foremans 1972 competition!!!

He was unable to beat Ali again because he was not facing an Ali who had just 18rds of combat in nearly 4 years. imo Frazier never beats a prime Ali, or one who had shaken off the ring rust and was confident in his stamina. You're back on your hobby horse, bashing Foreman, strange I've never seen you knock Frazier for defending against no hopers like Ziggy,Stander ,and Daniels? He took the path of least resistance fighting hyped guys like Mathis who had never beaten anyone and so so Ramos, who briefly rose to prominence on the back of beating a diminished Terrell.
Waiting for the division to wear itself out? Isn't that precisely what Yank Durham did when he refused to let Frazier enter the WBA tournament?

Foreman would have beat any version of Frazier. The style matches so well for him he's like a fat kid on a cup cake.

Purrity refused to face Wlad after their first fight.
