The cans early in his career don’t matter.

I asked you first. You can look them up. Google is your friend.

Your question was about world champions he could have KO’d in one..

So the only ones he did were Michael Spinks (light heavyweight with bad knees at the end of career) and Bruce Seldon (didn’t even get hit, either threw the fight or just outright fainted in the ring). Am I missing someone?

You can look those up if you really try. I don’t care about Joe Putz and the guys he was fed on his way up but I looked up his third opponent, Don Halpin — Tyson was the ninth guy to KO him and the second to do so in the first round. The first was Steve Floch, a real immortal, probably on his way to Canastota as we speak.

Willard would probably get up and keep getting up.

Even 20 pounds lighter Tony was not going to go all 12 with Tyson... he had a good round 1 and then got splattered like a bug... one of Tyson's cooler knockouts personally

I am not sure that I would pick a first round stoppage of any champion.

As others have pointed out, it is a rare occurrence, even if the champion has a sub par chin.

Incidentally, a reigning lineal heavyweight champion getting stopped in the first round, has only happened twice in the history of the sport.

Liston did it, and Tyson did it.

Jack Dempsey came close, but no cigar.

Louis ha weaker chin than Baer, but Max was easier to hit than Louis, Foreman was bigger than Louis, just trying to ruin your sarcasm.

Patterson is a good shout, but he would not be giving up as much reach to Tyson, as he was against Liston.

This might enable him to fight a slightly more cagey fight.

Carnera's reach and size would probably be enough for him to spoil for a few rounds.

Louis had better fundamentals than any boxers in the 80`s or 90`s aside from Tyson himself when he was trained by Rooney and Larry Holmes, most heavyweights in the 90`s were easy to hit and Louis was ahead of his time.

Floyd Patterson is the first person that came to mind. I don't even know if that would be a first round ko

Since Michael Spinks is the only one he KO’d in the first (Bruce Seldon does not count lmfao), I’d say not many. Berbick, Thomas, Tubbs, Holmes, and Bruno managed to get past the first. Smith and Tucker took him the distance. Holyfield and Lewis, both older than Tyson, each pulverized him. If Mitch Green snd James Tillis were able to go the distance, I’m willing to bet that many former champions and non champions could survive the first round.
