ya my instructor said he saw rickson defend his guard and sweep royler with out using his arms just legs. again this is all here say i dont know if its true thats why rickson is such a legend because no one knows if its all true.
that may be true but still he is probably the best out of the gracies. him or renzo. i just wish that rickson would compete now so we could see if it was true about his legend.
he probably wouldnt have but thats why he is a legend of the sport because all of his accomplishments are speculative and most likely stories
I'm sure you already know this, but I'll share it in case others don't. Relson has given his opinion of who the better Gracie was. I don't recall the exact age difference between Relson and Rickson. I think that Relson is approximately 5-7 years older. Rickson has his claim to over 400 victories without a loss. Relson went 2 decades, undefeated, as Brazil's National Jiu-Jitsu champion. Part of the Rickson legend is that he has not been submitted since being a young teenager. Part of Relson's legend is that his guard was never passed in competition. Relson has spoken of his last time grappling his brother, Rickson. Rickson was between 16-18, and his talent was already speaking for itself. During this session, Rickson became frustrated when he was unable to pass Relson's guard. Things became heated, and the training session almost became a real fight until it was broken up by their father. They never grappled against each other again. I don't know of Relson ever stating anything about Rickson being better than he was. Relson has stated that his cousin, Rolls Gracie, was without a doubt the best he had ever seen.
