Lol...I'm a Parker fan . I think he's ready to test himself in deep waters. I was super pumped for his Fury fight...organised food, friends and drinks! That would have been a big test against a very good legit HW boxer. I know he went to England to meet Hearn so maybe Chisora or Whyte is on the cards? Does he have a mandatory if the furys play funny buggers? Otherwise - if Browne can pass a drug test - that's he's most feasible $$$ fight right now. And I personally think he'll school Browne.
i don't think he's even got that much power, like wilder, when they fought someone a bit more durable (ruiz and last opponent for parker and wilder and stiverne) they couldn't finish them, whereas AJ has knocked out a couple of good names in wlad and whyte and i would pick breazeale to beat wilder and parker, i think hes quite underrated.
I don't think he's that bad and Breazeale actually had a decent win recently KOing the unbeaten prospect Ugonoh. Parker has some huge flaws in his game which is seeing him struggle. Parker does have good offensive skills and with Joshua now a catch and counter type fighter he'll give Parker time to get his punches off, which is why I think Parker will be dangerous early against Joshua. But when Joshua decides to push Parker back, he'll shut down Parker's offence and then it's only a matter of time before Joshua takes him out.
Povetkin beats him imo. Hrgovic in maybe 2-3 years. Teslenko is 3-4 years. Nistor would knock him the **** out again if he would go pro. Let's not forget Wlad has a VERY good shot in a rematch.
Wlad still has a good chance. Ortiz too, if he hasn't lost anything in the last few years. Povetkin could definitely test him, again if he hasn't lost a step. Those are the old guard. The new guard is a little less impressive. Parker has the goods to beat Joshua but not the ring IQ or level of seasoning at the moment. He needs to make major strides in these areas, and I'm not sure he's going to if he stays with Barry. Wilder's an utter joke who hasn't got a hope in hell of beating Joshua, plus he's injury prone and on the downslide of his career, though his power will lead people to think he's in with a puncher's chance. Usyk is a bit too small and light hitting to compete, though he certainly has the skills. Guys like Browne and Pulev are fodder.
Parker's miles above Breazeale. Good grief. What's Brezeale done that leads you to think he'd beat him? Wilder takes him out as well, and I think Wilder sucks.
Parker's main flaws are his predictability and openness on the attack. His defence isn't brilliant, but he actually doesn't get hit clean that often when going backwards. It's mainly when he's on the offence that he leaves himself open to getting countered, which is why I currently favour Joshua to beat him. If Parker can learn to utilise his jab better and vary his rhythm of attack he becomes a very dangerous proposition indeed. His speed and combination punching are intense.
went longer with aj than molina did and it took beyonce wilder like 8 rounds to get rid of molina. knocked out a good prospect in february, whats parker done other than get a dodgy home decision against a fat man in ruiz?
I agree with you, Parker is better than Breazeale. But i think Breazeale has a good chance to beat Wilder, Breazeale is slow and punches as if he is underwater but he has good punching power and is durable with a good chin. Wilder is not very hard to hit, his defense is sloppy, Wilder would beat him probably but Breazeale would have a good chance to make him do the chicken dance.
I can't see Breazeale beating Parker. He's very slow and his defence will lead to him getting tagged all day long by Parker, who will likely win a one-sided decision against him. In this case I could see Breazeale doing better against Wilder, due to his toughness and good punching power.
Yeah I think Breazeale could be a dangerous fight for Wilder. Breazeale can obviously be out boxed despite his size, but he's durable and a dangerous puncher and the Ugonoh and Mansour fights showed he's a difficult guy to put away and dangerous even when hurt. I could see Wilder hurting him but then getting caught by Breazeale when he tries to take him out.
This. People seem to be very high on Breazeale all of the sudden. I think Parker is very robotic and nothing special, but Breazeale is garbage. Breazeale reminds me of taller and fatter Audley, but with less skill and stamina. Breazeale is too easy to back against the ropes. I see both Wilder and Parker bullying Breazeale when he gasses and knocking him out.
