Just trying to work out if Haymon will get all his fighters on his new boxing channel this year and if they'll get a fair shake. He has a number of favourite fighters that he will build and match well. Thurman Porter will be invested in. He has a reputation of looking after everyone but which guys has he signed that might have been a bad move for . Paulie is one I think he's begging for a fight but Haymon clearly isn't prioritising him. There must be a good few others in this boat ?
I firmly believe this Haymon model is destined for a massive failure. It is not financially viable and 3 million viewers on a potential 115 million viewership is just ok.Very few sponsers aired their advertising(Corona is the only one I recall) and the fights were very one sided despite a gutsy effort by Guerrero. The Mares fight like the Broner fight were horrid and other than the nice production by NBC all else was disappointing. Nothing new here-same old Haymon horrid matchmaking.
After Paulie signed with Haymon, he headlined a card in Brooklyn at the Barclay's Center and then got a title shot against Shawn Porter. Now go look at the previous 3 years of Paulie's career prior to that. Malignaggi is doing well with Haymon.
Kovalev made more than 450K vs Hopkins surely?. (Molina got 450K for his pathetic performance vs "the problem")
Paulie doesn't seem like he's begging for a fight. He always sounded like he was 50/50 on retiring or leaning more toward retiring since he has a good living outside of boxing
