Ingemar Johanssen took a terrible punch from Patterson, had his leg twitching!! The left hook to Big John Tate!! He went down like he was shot!

First of all , all excellent picks ...

    left out were ..

    Patterson to Ingo (1)
    Sullivan to Corbett - a terrible, multi-round pummeling ..

also pretty bad , Dempsey to Tunney ... he took a ton of punishment of the Sanchez to Lopez variety ...

Not even close - Dempsey-Willard hands down - its pretty disgusting actually when I watch that - actually makes me turn away sometimes - no other fight has ever had that effect on me - that bit it the end of the 1st round where he hanging onto the ropes is just brutal - that ref really must've not liked Willard - he's really lucky he wasn't killed in my opinion

Willard/Dempsey is overrated, it is so sloppy, he hits him about 50 times while he is down.

    Liston v Patterson

    Marciano V Walcott

    Frazier v Foreman

    Tyson V Douglas

Having a comfortable lead and taking it to the champion, only to get KO'd by a mammoth shot is hardly bad, much less brutal. Walcott vs. Marciano shouldn't belong here.

Mine goes to Liston vs. Patterson. Picture giving a behemoth a title shot and getting blitzed twice in the first round in under 2:10. How morale-breaking that must've been on Floyd.

That's actually a good pick, Buster gave him a hellacious beating, practically punching him into the canvas for 10 rounds with combinations. The finish was true brutality, he snapped Mike's head right back with a vicious uppercut from hell, & it looked like Tyson was trying to regain his balance while Douglas sealed the deal with a brutal combo.

Ive always thought Lewis Rahman 1 was a pretty brutal punch. At least in the McCall fight lewis was able to get to his feet. For a dominant fighter like Lewis to lose like that was pretty brutal in a different way from a prolonged beating.

Surprised Patterson didnt get mentioned til the 2nd page. I think its a toss up between him and Willard, as its unfair to more-or-less say that one got less of a beating than the other.

I think an honourable mention must go to Terrible Tim for his loss to Bones

Jess Williard, Floyd Patterson and Joe Frazier come to mind. Michael Spinks too. Yes, that's right, I said Michael Spinks. He was the Heavyweight Champion when he fought Tyson. He didn't lose his title in the ring, nor did he retire.

Hey, Burt. How are you my friend? I hope all is well with you. Is that you in the avatar picture? It is nice to know what you look like. Remember, to many of us at E.S.B., you are our boxing historian/celebrity since you have seen so many greats in action and in person. Keep on punchin', Burt! :good
