    Depends of couse.

Dempsey imo would still try like hell to ko Willard in round 1, after that left hook.

Tyson would still dust Spinks in 1 round, but if no blowout like the Smith or Gibbions fight happens, than its time to save, and pick shots. Just saying I would not used Jeff's rules "Against" him, Ie Koing Corbett in 23 rounds in regards to power.

A whole other rule set. Marciano would had to settle down in a slower pace or Joe Fraizer under the old rule set, and who knows what that would have done.

I agree entirely. However people want to describe it,for me they are the two greatest pure powerpunchers of all time amongst the heavies.

Joe Choyinski was a great P-4-P fighter of the 19th century, but also basically a normal sized light-heavy at 175 pounds or so...... However, I get tired of hearing the stories about how he could KO King Kong with his skill and power..... Really? C'mon, could Joe Choyinski hit any harder than Archie Moore, Michael Spinks or Bob Foster?? I say he cannot........... Peace.....

Marciano may be eligible. His power came more from his phenomenal conditioning. His work rate in the ring was like that of a middleweight, averaging 80-85 punches a round, sometimes going well over 100. His power was great, but it took Marciano alot of the time, numerous punches to be landed before wearing his opponent down enough to knock them out. Sure, it took one punch to take out Walcott in the 13th, and sure it was two left hooks that took out Kid Matthews, and sure he knocked Cockell from pillar to post...but...it also took him 10 1/2 rounds to knock out LaStarza in their rematch, and he had to knock down Moore five times before he was kayoed. His power was more about pressure, rather than the power behind the blows...this may very well be due to his lack of reach and stature, as many sparring partners claimed Marciano hit harder with one punch than Joe Louis could with two, three or four punches....but I do believe Marciano is eligible for this debate.

Jeffries is unproven to me ... to rate him so high based on actual opposition is a guess ..

Marciano had great power for his size but I would not compare him to Foreman, Shavers, ect ...

I think Baer is slightly overated regarding his power ...

    Not saying your wrong mate....but

Are you forgetting about the Rex Layne Kayo? Marciano had more one punch knockouts on film vs top contenders than most ATG heavyweight champions, and alot of his devastating one punch knockouts in providence are not even on film(too bad)....so I dont think he is eligible here. Pre 1953, Marciano was a one punch knockout slugger. By 1954 his style changed to a swarmer wear u down type, but before that against Layne, Matthews, Louis, and Walcott he was a one punch guy.

Baer's power is not overrated........ That mother could punch........... BUT! His skills were overrated and unproven.......... In truth, Baer couldn't box for ****, yet he could wallop..... Baer often wrote his opponets letters stating that his right cross was coming over for dinner....... Baer was powerful, but also sloppy...............

Rocky Marciano never fought a topic level fighter who was in their prime and knocked them out quickly. Walcott was pushing 40 and was knocked out 5 or 6 times before he even faced Marciano. Archie Moore was pushing 40 and started his career as a welterweight and fought his first 10 years as a middleweight. Moore was also knocked out 4 times before he even faced Marciano with one of those knockouts to a guy named Leonard Morrow in 1 round.

How many 205 pound modern heavyweights did Marciano fight period? Joe Louis who was pushing 40 and who else? Roland LaStarza and Ted Lowrly weren't true heavyweights and they beat Marciano in their first fights. Marciano's power is overrated , Dempsey fought in a era with 5 ounce gloves and he avoided fighting black fighters so his power is overrated.

But you people say Foreman's power is overrated? Apparently you know more about boxing that people who actually boxed. Holyfield, Briggs, Scott LeDoux, George Shavalo ect ect ect all say Nobody hit them as hard as Foreman did. Joe Louis and Jack Dempsey both stated that they never seen anybody punch harder than Foreman yet you people know more than they do. How amusing.
