I'd plump for a certain stubby Italian American if we are asking who committed the most fouls? The worst might be Tyson?
I can understand the frustration Holyfield caused him that made him bite off his ear. There should have been a glove on Holy's head.
In the very first round against Grant, Lewis knocked him down with a flurry of three or four shots to the back of the head while holding him down.
Ali was the leanmaster,Holyfield the headmaster,Holmes, the thumbmaster,Johnson the slap and pull monster,Lennox was the hold and hit monster,Marciano the elbow king,Tyson was criminal but usually look for a gangster way out but it was a way out,Dempsey went for the lower extremities,Vlad is very good at clinchand leaning but defends his head from the head butters very few saints here
Just watched it again and I don't agree. Lewis certainly held Grants head while punching, but I only saw maybe one rabbit punch. Most of the time Grant lowered his head and Lewis punched over top of it. Mind referencing exactly when this 3-4 rabbit punch combination happened.
Seems all greats had a few dirty tricks, you cant blame them though. That's what makes these guys great, willing to do anything to get the W.
This made me laugh out loud as i pictured Holyfield walking to the ring in his purple robe wearing a glove on his head
TLC, good list here of Bowe's indiscretions. Trouble seemed to follow him and his camp around. The MSG riot was one of the low points for the sport. Utterly disgraceful. Ditto for the Donald sucker punch. Filthy move by the former champ, who was mentally deteriorating at that point in his life. About your last sentence, he also complained during the Herbie Hide fight that Hide was a "dirty fighter" for head butting. Bowe pulled away from the referee at one point when he tried to restore order. It was a single butt and it looked unintentional to me. Jimmy
Bowe, committed a lot of flagrant fouls throughout his boxing career. Sucker punching Donald, and the MSG riots were boxing low points. Bowe/Newman seemed to attract a low bunch of thugs to his camp.
I agree, this is boxing a game you dont play, trick is dont get caught and some of these guys knew how to incororate it into there style so very well. Fritzie Zivic was turned it into an art and it was 45% of his game to ruffle feathers
Fritzie wore one hell of a hair piece in later years. A whopper. He was ruffling more than feathers with that on his head. It was an unsuccessful attempt to trick the public in my eyes.. possibly the dirtiest trick of all. :good
Very true. Bowe's security team attacked Golota and Fan Man by bashing them over the head with a walkie talkie. Classy behavior.
