    Very interesting information.

My only comment is these totals are a guide, not an absolute.

For example, Jimmy Bivins does not appear on Joe Louis' list. Fair enough. He was not rated when Louis fought him. But he was rated for years earlier, and would make the top ten again, and is a Hall of Famer. Certainly a better scalp than let's say Johnny Paycheck,

or someone like Manuel Ramos. #4 when Frazier KO'd him. Okay. But overall a fighter with a losing career record whose ranking in the top five seems in retrospect a fluke.

Sure, not every individual one is 100%, but when we're reaching 30 wins it probably evens out.

And even for those with far less it will to a degree. Maybe Rams didn't deserve to be nr 4 but Mathis probably didn't deserve to be unranked when he faced Frazier either.

I am not saying this isn't good information, just some comments on limitations.

As for Mathis being unrated. He was undefeated, but whom had he beaten?

Like Mac Foster being number one. I can see it. All 24 of his fights were KO victories. But all the top names were old and far past it. The best was old Cleveland Williams. I would say top ten certainly. But between 6 and 10 until he proved himself. When he fought his first gatekeeper type, Quarry, he lost badly. But I can't really second-guess his rating. It is all a matter of what you value.

It's not rare for fighters to get into the top 10 without beating other ranked fighters.

Anyhow, I thought you were talking about quality and Mathis was clearly a skilled fighter. I think it's reasonable to say that he was a top 10 fighter quality wise just as Ramos wasn't a top 5 fighter quality wise.
