No. That's still how I see it. It's just that the two Klitschko's in their primes were better than Usyk, Joshua, Fury, and Wilder. Only the late addition of Usyk really even makes it close.

Really? Because I got sick of Fury, Wilder, and Joshua avoiding each other for years and then Fury's endless rematches with Wilder and Chisora. Wilder milked his belt the first what, nine defenses? It was like one of those comedy sitcom tv will they won't they relationships for seven seasons. Eventually, you just find all of the characters annoying and you stop caring if they ever get together. What was good was Usyk putting that era down like euthanizing a sick dog. I don't think his reign should be considered with that crap which preceded it. He's his own thing, a new thing. We're not in the Fury, Wilder, Joshua triumvirate anymore. We're in the Usyk era.

I will say that Joshua did show spine and fought more decent challengers than Fury or Wilder. After a phenomenal start he just ended up folding. He probably would have fought them if they didn't dodge him. Whyte, Breazeale, Klitschko, Povetkin, Parker showed guts and ambition. He stumbled with Ruiz and never recovered.

I mean, you're not wrong. But there was NOTHING in the Klitschko era that compared to this. Compare...

    WladKlt vs Sultan
    WladKlit vs Haye
    WladKlit vs Povetkin
    Vitkli vs Briggs
    Vitklit vs Adamek

    to

    Joshua- WladKlit
    Fury Wilder 1
    Fury Wilder 2
    Fury Wilder 2
    Usyk-Joshua 2
    Usyk- Fury 1

And as you said, Joshua had a good run at the beginning, even if the fights were not always great.

To me this is a much, much better era in terms of result, and whereas this thread is about raw talent, in the end, I stand by this era because there were good fights to be made, and they got made.

They didn't get made any more than they did in the Klitschko era. We never got Fury vs Joshua or Joshua vs Wilder. I'd rather have those than Fury Wilder 2 and 3. The Klitschko era didn't have good fights 1)because Fury, Joshua, and Wilder avoided them until they got old and 2)because they were so much better than everybody else that it wasn't competitive.

It used to be that boxers fought three times a year or more for 60 fight careers. They fought fellow contenders to get a shot at the title. Now, they don't fight anybody so they can preserve their 0, fighting once a year to hold their rank until they get a chance to nab a paper belt. We pay them more money to fight less and have less interesting fights. It's the Floyd Mayweathering of the sport.

I think we are just going to disagree on this one. I am not trying to influence anyone's decision, and as Boxed Ears correctly pointed out, it isn't really what the thread is about.

My contention, and I am sticking to it, is that because the Klit era was dominated by two brothers who could not fight each other, and because those parsed out opponents according to who they wanted, we saw virtually no good heavyweight fights. I get that you wanted to see Fury-Joshua and Wilder-Joshua, but a lot of very good fights did get made in this era. I don't see any equivalence.

But again, I'll be happy to give you the last word on it.

In terms of actual talent, theres nothing to separate them imo.

But the Fury/AJ/Usyk/Wilder era will be more fondly remembered because it was more entertaining and had more star power.
