Fury sold 94,000 tickets against a Whyte who'd been sparked out cold by a pensioner 2 fights prior to that and Usyk is a global superstar who has packed out arenas and stadiums in the UK, Russia, Germany, Latvia, Poland, Ukraine, the US, and Saudi Arabia. He sold 65,000 tickets when he fought AJ over here

Lol bro Usyk didn’t sell those tickets the people he was fighting did. Also Whyte is a pretty big name in the UK which is why Fury managed to get so many people to buy tickets. The only reason Fury Vs Usyk is a big fight is because it’s for undisputed. Without the undisputed tag line causals wouldn’t be interested.

Yes he did. He's a superstar and no matter where he goes he sells out.

''The data shows we could've sold 200,000 tickets for this fight'' --E-Hearn

AJ couldn't sell 200,000 on his own or even close

When Russian Gassiev fought fellow Russian star Lededev in Russia they staged the fight in the Khodynka Ice Palace which has a maximum capacity of 14,000

When Gassiev fought Dorticos in Russia they staged the fight in the Bolshoy Ice Dome which has a maximum capacity of 12,000

When Gassiev fought Usyk they staged the fight in the Olympic Stadium in Moscow which has a maximum capacity of 81,000

When Bellew fought fellow Brit Dave Haye in England they staged the fight in the 02 Arena which has a maximum capacity of 20,000

When Bellew fought international superstar Usyk in England they staged the fight in the Manchester Arena which has a maximum capacity of 23,500

Just need to tone it down a little bit and you will get a lot more bites.

Wlad wasn't past his prime at all.

In fact he had one his career best performances the following year against Pulev.

This is bigger than WK v Haye.. Hayes resume was awful & Wlad holed up in Germany with his trampoline canvases .. this is a legit pick em fight hopefully for all the marbles.. but I'm favouring Fury

You’re probably one of those guys that say Wlad was at his best ever against Fury and AJ.

    Wlad’s prime was 2006-11 age 30-35.

It was all downhill from there.

His legs were starting to noticeably slow down vs Wach. He actually looked really clumsy and uncoordinated against Pulev but the precision and power was still levels above.

Why not Tyson vs Holyfield? That was more comparable in that it was not just the best vs the best but people really disagree about who will win.

I think if you remove Holyfield vs Tyson and maybe Holyfield vs Lewis you'd have to reach back to an Ali fight to find something like Fury vs Usyk.

Of course, in terms of general cultural relevance Fury vs Usyk won't come close to any of those because the sports and media landscape have changed but I'm talking about significance to the sport of boxing and people who care about it.
