    Foreman by a mile.

Then it's a toss up between Liston and Tyson with honorable mention to Joe Louis...

Without a doubt iron mike.In his prime most of his opponents had lost before they even got in the ring!

Well Tyson gets my nod if you end his career at the age of 21. He was done after that IMO. He caused grown men to get weak in the knees. Sonny Liston did the same to Floyd Patterson, and he had Ali climbing trees before the first fight. But a pre-21 year old Tyson gets my nod. After D'amato died, forget it.

Please. Ibeabuchi is SO overrated. He had two fights against decent fighters, one of which he arguably lost.

A teddy bear that could knock you into next week! Honestly, if I were a heavyweight contender, I'd be MORE frightened by old George, in a way. The thing is, young George can be beat. Outbox him and he should tire, and honestly I think a bigger man with a great jab, power and a good reach should handle young George. But old George... that chin that never quit. He just kept coming, punching. His power was still there and he was ****ing indomitable. There's something terrifying about a guy that will just keep coming, with that kind of power. You've gotta be on your toes constantly. Can't rest with a guy like that. Ask Michael Moorer.

For me, it's Tyson. He was a ****ing wrecking machine, a perfectly scientific boxing machine with tremendous power, incredible speed and two-fisted punching prowess. He wasn't a simple brawler, he was a very intelligent fighter with tremendous tools, and he just looked like a killer. Liston looked like a beast, but I don't really feel he's as talented as Tyson or perhaps Foreman. A more well-rounded fighter than Foreman, I would think.

    Tyson.

He is the kind od fighter wherein opponents are already thinking of how to survive even before the fight starts.

The only men who feared Tyson were cowards. Why would anybody be afraid of a 5'10 coward who beats his wife and mugs elderly women? Douglas didnt seem afraid and knocked him on his butt. Foreman was mean looking but did Lyle fear him?

If you fear a boxer in the ring then you are a coward. It is a controlled sport. If you are getting beat the ref will save you. But in a street fight I would fear people like Liston and Foreman over Tyson.

They are looking for intimidating heavyweights not who are some of the tallest .. you can leave Vit off .. he is only intimidating to "C" level athletes like in the current heavyweight wasteland (division). No one looks at Vit and thinks "scary" though some might think "Herman" and smile if they grew up watching a certain 60s sitcom.

    That's a laugh.

You're calling somebody stupid after writing this:

When Marciano retired, Liston was a barely known fighter with twelve bouts to his credit, including a loss to a nobody.

He was just starting out, not even a contender yet, and not even on the radar.

He wasn't a contender and didn't get a title shot for nearly seven years after Rocky retired.

In fact he was in Jail when Rocky retired and was banned from boxing for more than a year.

All that said however, seven years after Rocy hung them up, Sonny was the world champion.

And the most intimidating champion of the past fifty years, maybe longer.

Now Iron Mike scared the **** outta lots of guys, but IMO, he would have lost to Sonny, during the staredown.

(And he might have needed a change of underwear.)

And OUTSIDE the Ring, Liston was even scarier !
