Tyson's is harder to beat I think. Don't see maybe 19/20 year olds getting a heavyweight world title shot. People are staying in their primes longer these days.

20 is crazy because HWs hit their prime much later than leprechauns, but I voted Foreman 45 pushing 46. That was even crazier

I think both are at the limit but I eventually see a HW breaking Foreman's record. HW primes are being pushed further and further into the advanced ages. Ortiz damn near did it twice within the past calendar decade and he was not the elite of elites

The sheer physicality that M Tyson had to become a 20 year old champ at HW simply doesn't exist in this era. Someone just beyond their teen years is not gonna run over a 33 year old highly ranked HW, it just isn't gonna happen.

I think youngest you're seeing alot more Heavyweights fight at an older age now because fighters don't fight as often now, and are turning professional at an older age with some of these Eastern European fighters with extensive Amateur backgrounds.

I don't think people realize how crazy Tyson's schedule was from when he turned professional in 1985 up until he won the title vs Berbick in 1986.

Tyson during this period went 10 rounds 3 times vs Tillis, Ribalta, Green, and had 28 fights which is more professional fights than Usyk has had in 11 years to put it into perspective.

Tyson's schedule would never happen in this era.

I went with youngest. You need the talent, financial team and promotional team to get you to a title shot and have a heavyweight champion that can be beaten by this young phenom. That coupled with the fact that most guys don't fight often these days is another aspect working against the youngest. It's really a stars aligning type of event that someone 20 years old could do it.

Oldest is still not going to be an easy feat by a long shot, but guys fighting less, fighting worse competition, taking better care of themselves (well, some of them) along with PEDs, can extend careers or have the possibility to.

    Great points.

On top of guys being better for longer…. Be honest, these kids are just too damn soft.

Can you see the attitude of ANY recent fighter who’s pro at 20 or younger doing what Tyson did? Hell nah!

The accomplishment was crazy back then, it’s a different level now.

, @Pepsi Dioxide you also brought up some great points.

There just aren't any very young HW's that have Tyson or Patterson's discipline or specific attributes. There's a number of quality near 40 year old HWs. I won't say a dime or dozen but they are out there.

January 23th 2025. That is the date Luis Ortiz is (by his unofficial birth date of March 29th 1979) 45 years and 300 days old and eligible for breaking Foreman's record.
