I think you have just qualified as the most delusional Jones fan of all time.

Jones never beats any version of Tyson. Sorry

He could probably beat a Bruce Seldon.

Him vs Moorer would have been good.

lmao moorer would destroy jones in less than 5 rounds.moorer was a destroyer against guys who were naturally smaller, moorer had a 100% of ko? at lhw?

He could only beat heavies who fought flat footed and didn't have great timing to catch him coming up. I see Patterson knocking him out, without much doubts. He could've made guys like Foreman and Liston look foolish for a few rounds, but they've got good enough timing to hurt him soon enough. He wouldn't last long against the likes of Ali, Holmes and the Klitschkos. I think he'd have Ruized guys like Rahman, Cleveland Williams, hell maybe even Cooney or Valuev.

I don't know about Ezzard Charles and Joe Walcott.

He beat Ruiz. He clearly beat Toney at SMW and probably could have beat him at HW. Others-

    Could, as in maybe-

Rahman, Byrd, Ellis, Young, Moore, and Moorer... just to name a few

I'm middle of the road on this topic if the issue is the year of 2003.

Might have been able to beat a shot and unable to punch Holyfield if that fight had come off in 2003.

Maybe stays away from Golota until Golota does something stupid and get's himself DQ'd.

Could he have outboxed Peter or Maskaev? Maybe. I wouldn't have bet on it, but it wouldn't be the greatest stunner ever. Those two weren't exactly nimble and athletic.

The Klitschko's and Lewis would have possibly killed him.

I think Tyson would have KO'd him, but he was looney toones at that point, so who knows that he wouldn't have done something idiotic as well to get DQ'd.

In an all time context, I think Jones would rate very low on a scale of men who have held at last a portion of the title. I doubt he even beats guys like Pinklon Thomas, much less the Holmes' of the world.

It depends on the heavyweights he would face. Going down the line through history, I think that if he was matched against heavyweights of similar weight (IE around 190 or so) he would have done pretty well.

The Jones of the Ruiz fight still had ridiculous handspeed and a pretty good crack, judging by the way he wobbled Ruiz in round four. Is it too much of a stretch to say he could even maybe be quite dominant in certain eras?

The thing is though, is that we don't know if Jones could take a heavyweight's punch. Ruiz never tested his chin, and he never fought at the weight again.
I'm guessing that against the bigger, stronger heavyweights he would have had an uphill battle. I don't think his chin survives a real puncher at the weight, regardless of size.
