Which heavyweights in history could hit harder than Dempsey?

With two hands no one hit harder....only louis might have hit better...debatable

 

For out and out power i am sure there have been numerous over the last 100 years.

 

His power looked great against second raters and Greb leftovers, but would have been nice to have seen if he could have knocked out a first rate fighter like Wills or Greb. The Sharkey knockout gets points taken off cause he went to the balls first. I am actually most impressed by his knockdown of gene Tunney, a first rate fighter with an excellent chin. Of course, Dempsey lost every second of the two fights besides that brilliant combination.


But to answer your question...Dempsey was a great puncher but numerous have hit harder. Liston, Lewis, Klitschko, tyson, louis, foreman, shavers, Joshua, tua, Morrison, Ibeabuchi, Ruddock, bonecrusher, Bruno, cooney all definitely hit harder. Dempsey was small at 185lb. those were big powerful strong men, mostly above 230lb.

 

Louis definitely hit better against far better opponents

Tyson, Liston, Lewis, Klitschko and Foreman too for sure

 

At 185lb over all the powerful strong 240lb heavyweights we have seen since 1980? No way he hits harder than those men. He wasn’t Superman..and his title reign was absolutely pathetic for an ATG

 

I'm speaking on his left hook. Jack and Frazier are the 2 best pure left hookers in my book

 

Don't forget about Tua's hook and Rahman's straight right. Or Sam Peter's hook.
